Shenandoah National Park
The Shenandoah National Park is just a short drive from the Grindstone Trail Running Festival by UTMB's weekend festivities. The National Park is an area with rich history and filled with stunning views. The park includes The Skyline Drive, a continuation of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a section of the Appalachian Trail. Plenty of adventures await you within the park.
Blue Ridge Parkway
September is the perfect time to take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage on your journey. With plenty of quaint towns and endless hikes to enjoy, there are numerous adventures along the way.
East Coast Destinations
While on the East Coast, you are within a three-hour drive to many iconic destinations, including Washington DC and Richmond, VA. In DC, see our Nation’s Capital, wander through the many world-renowned museums, or walk along the National Mall to visit the monuments along the path. Or take a visit to Virginia’s capital city and bike along the Virginia Capital Trail, enjoy the many local restaurants, or tour the Edgar Allan Poe Museum.
